A major Emergency Preparedness event will be held in Council District 4 this weekend. The Page Museum at the LaBrea Tar Pits will host the 17th Annual Emergency Preparedness Fair on Saturday, Sept. 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Seventeen city departments, emergency services organizations and county and state agencies will demonstrate how to handle a natural (or man-made) disaster and distribute FREE samples of emergency products. Officials and staff from the City of Los Angeles Planning Department will hold a public hearing on proposed new zoning restrictions for Larchmont Village on Tuesday, August 12 from 5-6:00 p.m. at the Pan Pacific Park Senior Center, 141 South Gardner Avenue.
Councilmember LaBonge proposed several restrictions last fall to help preserve the scale and character of this popular shopping village. This spring, the planning department held workshops in the community to gather feedback from residents and stakeholders.
